Shot of God ministries was inspired by God through the Holy
Spirit convicting me, Barry Clayton, with the idea for this
global outreach ministry. It was Christmas eve 2004 when the
Holy Spirit revealed to me God's plan for this online ministry.
Now the seed He planted has been implemented and is bearing
fruit.
In
the summer of 2002 I was a sinner who did not have our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ guiding my life. I, like all sinners
thought that I was in control of my life. I was overcome with
the lust and desires of the flesh and had been for 47 years
even though I had been raised in the church and graduated from
a church school. I was lost and the world was closing in around
me with no apparent way out. It was then through the conviction
of the Holy Spirit and the encouragement of my wife Tammy and
my family that I realized that I was not in control of anything
and that I needed help fast. I was at the major crossroads in
life that we all find ourselves at some point in our lives.
I could continue on as I had been doing (quite miserably I might
add), I could turn left and go off the deep end, or I could
turn right and follow God and His plan for my life.
I
chose God and on September 11, 2002 I asked for His forgiveness
and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I was saved!
Since then God has worked in my life and through me has worked
in the lives of many others, all for His glory. He has led me
to leadership in our church and has used me in childrens and
youth ministry since.
This
brings us to A Shot of God.com Ministries. My goal is to provide
the lost with the tools to obtain God's free gift of salvation
through belief in His son Jesus Christ as well as providing
new Christians and mature Christians information, encouragement,
and most importantly prayer to help them with their daily walk
with Christ.
I
thank God now every day for His grace, His mercy, His forgiveness,
and most of all His free gift of salvation and eternal life
through the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ. I encourage
you now to invite Him into your life so that your cup too may
overflow with all His many blessings.
It
is my humble prayer that this website will help you be the disciple
God wants you to be so that you too can have a closer personal
relationship with Him. Through Him all things are possible.
All you have to do is simply ask Him.
